Albumtitel und Cover-Artwork stellen gleich klar, wo's bei dieser Platte langgeht. Primal Fear sind ihrer straighten Linie absolut treu geblieben und verzichten auf Nuclear Fire konsequent auf Stiländerungen und Experimente. Stattdessen zimmern sich die süddeutschen Power-Metaller gewohnt gutklassig durch ein schnörkelloses, technisch einwandfrei inszeniertes Dutzend mehrheitsfähiger Dampfhammer-Songs. Die Drums geben mächtig laut Vollgas, an der Gitarrenfront werden wieder mal Riffs, Licks und Soli vom Allerfeinsten ausgepackt, und Sänger Ralf Scheepers beweist einmal mehr eindrucksvoll, warum er es fast geschafft hätte, die Nachfolge von Rob Halford bei Judas Priest anzutreten. Wer die alten Primal Fear-CDs mag oder voll auf Priests Meilenstein Painkiller abfährt, kann sich Nuclear Fire bedenkenlos zulegen. --Michael Rensen
